Usually I buy Licca on Ebay, from sellers of Hong Kong, or Japan,
and I buy other toys (Barbie, doll furniture, and accessories) usually from Amazon, US.
some time ago I wondered if Licca was available on Amazon US, and searched.
Yes, she was available on Amazon US, but the price was twice as much as Ebay's.
New release of Licca from eBay sellers of Hong Kong is about $25-$40 ( mostly including Shipping)
But the price on Amazon site are like $60 and over. also many listed on Amazon were just dress,
no doll come with. (the photo and descriptions were confusing, and the price for a dress alone was expensive).
So I didn't think Amazon was a good place to buy Licca,
but recently one of my expensive Licca body had cracked, (I will write about it next time), and I was looking for the body or the same doll.
On Ebay, the particular Licca , very same one as mine , is now $500 +
(I paid $150 about 18 months ago), I can't afford it.
then Just in case, I decided to look on Amazon.
There were no same Licca I was looking for, but there was a good deal (I thought so).
The Wedding Licca!!!
This Licca was manufactured and sold for a wedding gift.
this one was 2011 version, according to the info I saw, said only 5000 were available, and all
sold out, hard to find now. Since this is sold out, and 7 yrs old, and nobody sell this on Auction at this time, I can't find much info such as price. but the later version
of the wedding gift Licca (2012 or 2015 version), is 12,100 yen on Amazon Japan currently. (approx US $110)
if so, this one should be more than that.
Anyway, this one I found on Amazon US, From individual seller who lives in NY,
was $44 and $3.95 (S&H) total under $50!!!
the description said that the doll stand was missing, and the outer box was heavily damaged,
but the photo of the doll the seller posted looked fine, and new, the accessories (shoes) were still
in a plastic bag unopened, and headdress and Licca were still attached in the inner box.
I decided to buy it!,
The seller shipped me quickly, (ordered on Thursday, Licca arrived here on following Monday)
As the description said, the outerbox was damaged, but inside was OK.
Looks everything new, but doll stand was missing as described, and found a piece of clear plastic
in the inner box, I think it was broken into pieces. The licca stand in clear plastic are not durable, I know. I have some and easily crack without doing anything. Anyway, except the stand was missing, and outer box was not in good condition, everything else was fine, received as new.
I think it was a very good deal ( yet, I had Amazon GC, paid with it, no needed to spend any cash).
and I think I will check Amazon for Licca from now on.
There are also several recent version of Licca on Amazon and price has been lower than 1-2 yrs ago when I first checked. ( now new release from seller in Japan is $44 or so, not so different than seller from Hong kong on Ebay, anything price under $40 might be a dress only, you must check before buying).
if you look carefully, you can find a good deal on AmazonUS Like this Licca mom doll, $25.37+ free shipping, and it comes with a doll and dress.
Amazon Japan also now ships Licca to US (used to be only media items) except some items (depending on sellers- if they agree to sell buyers outside Japan)
